Marla Laine Aldridge

Marla Laine Aldridge, 54, of St. Louis, passed away in Marion, Illinois, on August. 15, 2012 of natural causes.  She was born November 15, 1957, in Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Marla was full of kindness and passion in her work to help children who are deaf and hard of hearing. She worked as a houseparent at CID in the early 1990s while she earned her MS degree in audiology at CID/Washington University. She was an audiologist for at St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf for a time and most recently served as an audiologist for the Williamson County Special Education District in Illinois. Throughout her life, Marla served many thousands of children.

In accordance with her wishes, she was able to bless many through her last and most loving service as an organ donor.

Marla is survived by Patti Nippe. She is also survived by her parents, Bobby and Lola Jean Aldridge, of Sweet Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Ramona Lee of Sweet Springs, Mo., and Lorel Box (husband, James), of Houstonia, Mo.; three brothers, Bobby Aldridge (wife, Lisa) of Sedalia, Mo, Brian Aldridge (wife, Trudy) of Fayetteville, Ark., and Bradley Aldridge (wife, Julia) of Moroni, Utah. Marla will be sorely missed by her 31 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
